Substance Use Programs provide accessible, high quality treatment services for alcohol, other substance use problems and or other addictions. Riverside County's Department of Mental Health offers a wide range of countywide treatment and prevention services that include assessment, education through individual and group counseling sessions with encouragement to be involved in 12-step programs, sobriety maintenance through support groups, case management, and referrals to outside services.
Outpatient Drug Free (ODF) Program: This program offers individual and group counseling, with individualized treatment planning and overall case management including referrals to other agencies and services for men and women who are abusing the use of alcohol and other drugs. Adolescent Program: This program includes individual counseling, recovery groups, substance use education with individual treatment planning and case management for adolescents who are abusing the use of alcohol and other drugs.
Aftercare: This program focuses on the continuing care of treatment for those individuals who have completed a Primary Substance Use Recovery Program.
Specialty Services: These services provided are many and varied. More specifically, the program offers a myriad of specialty services including a Drinking Driver Program (DDP), Drug Court, Recovery Opportunity Center (ROC), Friday Night Live (FNL), Individual Prevention, MOMs Perinatal Program, Prevention Program, Residential & Detoxification and the START Program.

How to Apply
Call to schedule appointment. Referrals accepted but not required.
Some sites may accept walk-ins on specific days and time only.
If possible, should bring:
- Photo ID
- Insurance card (if applicable)
Sliding scale based on income offered for those that do not have Medi-Cal. Will need to be able to provide general estimate of income. No documentation required.
If treatment is court mandated, should bring necessary paperwork.
