Olive Crest Services include:
Chaplaincy: The Chaplaincy program is designed to address the spiritual and value clarification needs of the youth. A variety of activities and opportunities encourage youth to explore this area of their lives. Participation in the Chaplaincy program is always voluntary.
Community Involvement: Community Involvement offers a continuum of services geared towards helping children and families in our care by providing them with tools and resources they need to live successfully, such as mentoring, volunteerism, nutrition, and independent living skills.
Education: Several programs help youth advance academically, including tutoring, after-school computer lab instruction on the most up-to-date software, and a scholarship program which provides opportunities for worthy students to attend community colleges, universities, and trade schools.
Family Resource Center: The Family Resource Center in Coachella is designed to help close the gap between those in need and those who can help. Early intervention and prevention assistance is available to help prevent further crises in families, and consequently prevent more undesirable problems, such as child maltreatment, juvenile delinquency, and school failure.
Emergency Shelter Care: Shelter Care parents are available to provide immediate care for children who have been detained by Social Services. Care is provided until it is determined whether or not the child will remain a dependent of the court or whether there are family members available to care for the child.
Standard Foster Care: Traditional foster parents are available to care for children who are dependents of the court. While the child is in care, the birth parents are given a plan for reunification by the court system. The child will be reunified with his or her parents if the court deems it appropriate and safe.
Mental Health Services: Mental health staff are integrated into Olive Crest programs and may provide such specialized, culturally competent services as crisis intervention, therapy, substance abuse treatment, psychiatric assessments, and medication management.
Residential: Our Residential program allows teens to live in a caring environment appropriate for their age, gender, and background. Youth are empowered to choose a positive lifestyle through services that are individual, unique, and implemented with dignity.
Safe Families for Children: Parents experiencing a temporary crisis can arrange for their children (newborn through 16 years old) to stay with Safe Families volunteers while they address the issues that led to the instability in their lives.
Wraparound: This program serves children and families by providing a family-centered, strength-based planning approach to help children remain in a home environment rather than residential care. Wraparound services are provided within the home and facilitate the family’s movement from dependence on mandated systems of care to natural supports.
