Jewish Family Service of the Desert (JFS) provides a wide range of counseling services for individuals, couples, and families. The Counseling Program helps people face life’s challenges through skill building, coping strategies, and other methods. Commonly addressed issues include anxiety, depression, partner/marital conflict, divorce, death and grieving, domestic violence, alcohol and drug addiction, illness, job stress, child abuse, and senior abuse.
Counseling services are provided by licensed clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, Master’s level counselors, and clinically-supervised and licensed Master’s level interns.
-Services are provided regardless of religious beliefs.
-JFS accepts the following insurance plans: Blue Cross, Cares, IEHP, Kaiser, Medi-Cal, Medicare, Molina, and United Health.
-Sliding scale fees are available for uninsured clients. Fees are based on household income and begin at $5 per session.

How to Apply
Call 760-325-4088, ext. 0 to speak with an intake coordinator. The intake coordinator will determine insurance coverage or sliding scale payment, collect basic personal information, and schedule an appointment with a therapist. Wait list varies based on insurance and may be up to 4 weeks. At the appointment, please provide:
-Insurance information (if applicable)
-Proof of income, if uninsured
